Christmas Preparation

No time for sickies... no time for scraps... just pictures ok!

Yesterday was Idul Adha, a Moslem's Holiday... Happy Aidul Adha to those who celebrate it... :-)
the streets are so empty... I took my camera a long and had some shots while I drove for drama rehearsal.. hehehe.. not too good angle and picture though but clear enough to show you Bandung. It's 8.30 AM.

Photobucket

It's becak... empty as well... it is our city park name taman Maluku, there are so many err.. you know.. men dress up like women...(what do we call them?) at nights here.

Photobucket

I arrived at the church. This is our headquarter church, I don't go to this church every Sunday because it is quite far from my house. I go to the church in our area, at the 'branch church' the same name but different area. Our church has 43 branches in Indonesia, also in Singapore, LA and San Diego. I am so excited that the church has been decorated! Look behind the stairs, there are the Magi with a hole in their head so we could take our picture as the Magi over there!

Photobucket

The close up
Photobucket

At 2nd floor, there are some mangers over here... not finished yet, but I can guess it will be a stable with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus over here. There will be some people acting as shepherds, Jesus family etc... I wonder if there will be some animals as well..but I don't think so.. hehehe..

Photobucket

On the 3rd floor where we use to hold the Sunday service ... we can go up by elevator or lifts and here's the lifts door being decorated as well!
Photobucket

Here we are.... inside the fellowship service room... it is the stage.
Photobucket

We got our drama costume yesterday... Hm..hm... acha..acha...acha... a lady from India. Many things to be fixed to make the costume look better... hm..hm..

Travel Update - part two

I need more time to upload this travel update as I want to do some scrap to the pictures... This is my first time to scrap by photoshop cs 2, and I am so occupied in it! I did the Slide... Show... and Smile picture below until 1 AM last night! Okay, let's continue the travel update...

We spent our day two at Vivo City

... not much shopping..actually no shopping... hehehe... lunch at Food Republic... I really like the place decorations! Unfortunately I didn't take some pictures of it as we were too busy giving meals to the kids in that super crowded food court. We hardly could find some seats! Cliff was sleepy and kept nagging. Not a great start to have lunch... thank God Cliff loved to eat Clay's spaghetti so at least he ate quite well in the end. I had to give him wet tissues to play with!

After lunch We spent some time at Page One, bookstore... I saw moleskine as I told you on my last post. Hey why don't you give me some opinion about what you think? That is not a sponsored post... so go answer me there.. . Cliff and Clay loved to see the 'colorful monorail train - Sentosa Express' which passing by the Vivo to Sentosa Island. I spent time taking care of the kids, read some tractor books for Cliff and went to the restroom to and fro because the kids wanted to unload... hehehe... although I didn't have time for myself, I think I enjoy the whole day at Vivo. My dear hubby also only had a little time for himself, seeing some books at Page one while I was with the kids... after that he dedicated the rest of his time for us... he carried Cliff while he was sleeping, he was taking care of kids at the playground while I met my blog buddies, Winston and Jojo... he really was thoughtful hubby! Thank you dear... xoxoxo

From Page One, we saw Guardian... we need to buy some medicines. Cliff was sleeping on my hubby's arm so he just sat on the convinient bench in front of Guardian while I bought Zyrtec. Both of my kids has allergies so I have to prepare several bottles of Zyrtec. I also bought Biotine, Olbas and diaper rash lotion. Cliff slept more than an hour! Enough time to go to the market place (Giant) and Crocs. :-) Actually Vivo City is very huge mall that offers so much things, from Christmas decorations to chemises, from toys, foods, books and even wet playground for kids to swim for free!

We went to the playground after Cliff was awake... They played sliding and enjoyed their time for hours! Do you notice that Clay and Cliff has the same shirt motive? Cliff played with the water and got wet. So he has to change his shirt.

Slide...Show... Smile

I met Winston as well over there.... My honey bunny hubby was taking care of the kids while I chatted with Winston. He went directly from the airport to Vivo City. He rescheduled his holiday trip to Thailand just to meet us... how kind! Thanks for your time to meet me, my friend! You really have made us feel special. He showed me some pictures he took with his dad at Thailand. He has a very great dad I can tell! His dad always supports and encourages him, he even saw my blog! *waving to Winston's dad*

Winston went to movie while I met Jojo nearby a very beautiful Christmas tree. Jojo came with JR...they are a perfect couple! JR is nice and easily to talk with, he knows Vivo city quite well so he can show us the way to find some food... hehehehe... Jojo is friendly and sweet. My Clay loves to be near her... Clay walked beside Jojo while we walked around the mall. It was dinner time, most of famous restaurant were full. We decided to eat at Burger King to avoid long queue. Again, JR did us a help to find seats for us. Thank you JR!

We met Winston again at the playground after he went to see the movie. Here's the picture of us! Three musketeers... LOL... (btw, this picture is my first scrap yesterday. I just found out that I can use special effect brush to make snow stamps and decorate the pictures!)

Before we went home, Jojo gave me some cakes she bought near her office. Thank you dear! We love them... yummy! Thanks again JR for carrying the cakes all the way.

Travel Stories - part one

Hi friends!! Oh boy I miss you and my blog! Hehehehe... Thank you so much for coming here when I was away, there were so many kind and sweet people who has come to this 'rooms of my heart'! I received comments and gifts under my Christmas tree as if I still in Bandung, sitting in front of my computer... hm..hm.. I appreciate your attentions, it means a lot!

I am sorry I haven't visit all your blogs after my return. Still many things to do, plus retouching some pictures for you to see. I will try to catch up, visit and read your blogs after finishing my homeworks in this blog, okaaay?! *wink*

I hope these travel journal posts can be such a memorabilia for my kids as well when someday they read this blog. Okie dokie.. let's start from page one...

I woke up at 4 AM to give a finishing touch to our luggages... we were ready around 5 AM, after all of our luggages were in the car, we carried the kids up to the car... still sleeping... their eyes were still closed... taken from in their dreamland to begin our journey... hehehehe... in the car, the kids couldn't sleep anymore... they were fully awake. We took 3 hours to Jakarta by car and another one hour to go to the airport. When we arrived, there were a huge group of people who would go to Jeddah, Mecca. Oh wow... so long queue just to enter the front gate only!

In my previous post I have mention how good my Big Daddy has been to me. He provided good weather at take off as well as landing... I really want to give thousand hugs and kisses to Him!!
Cliff was sweet and nice in the plane. He didn't scared to sit by himself. Miraculously he was healed and healthy during the trip! Thank you so much for your prayers, God heard our prayers. I even didn't give Cliff medicine in Singapore. Moreover, the plane landed perfectly...the best landing I've ever had. My heart is over joy with gratitude while I am typing this...

At Changi Clay and Cliff helped us pulling luggages. Cliff was so cute, wasn't he? Hehehe... he really loves pulling that bag everywhere. After lunch at the food court, we went to the hotel our friend has booked for us, Harbour Ville Hotel at Kampung Bahru. There was only one queen size bed and an extra bed for 4 of us. We brought our own air bed to make sure we could have good sleeps.

The nearest MRT from the hotel is Outram, we took a bus to get there. China Town was the first place we visited in our first day because I wanted to buy Sanjin Watermelon Frost insufflations. Bought some Bossini shirt as well for gifts! :-) Clay didn't like China Town too much. He kept on asking to go. Too bad, as it was a heaven for shopping for me! Having an appointment with hubby's friends at Orchard, we continued our 'adventure' to Orchard. I remembered Janice's festive bread on her late post looked so yummy, now I have tasted that delicious cake Jan! Heheheehe....

To be continued. I have several pictures to be retouched.. :-D

The Coolest Wedding I've Ever Seen

Last Saturday I went to Jakarta to attend our best friend's wedding, Matias and Yosephine. Matias has been my hubby's best friend from they are teenagers. They have 5 boys as classmates and they have been influenced to each other in positive ways. They still close to each other after 25 years friendship. Matias has been their best man on their wedding day, 4 times best man until he finally married last Dec 8th 2007. Hehehe.. we teased him, who would be his best man if best man got married! hahaha...

This wedding was one of the coolest wedding ceremony we've ever seen. I brought the camera to show you the pictures... too bad, I failed to catch the most important moment! The ballroom was quite dark and I had to use flashlight. When I tried to shot continuously the camera was too slow because of waiting for flashlight to be ready! *sobs sobs*

Well, I hope this picture can give you clear picture about how the wedding goes... This is too cool to be kept for myself! I can't stand not to shout it to the world! :-D

Here's Yosephine, a beautiful bride... she stood alone at the entrance... waiting for her groom. In usual wedding ceremony, bride and groom entered the reception together, but this time is different. Look at her wedding dress, I love it very much! Soooo gorgeous!

This is Matias, the groom... what was he doing up there? Can you guess? He was holding the harness!

Yes! He came to his bride by flying fox!! Just too cool, wasn't it? It's a pity I couldn't catch the moment when he flied down...

He was arrived, put on his suit and took a bouquet of flowers... came to his bride, gave her a kiss and handed the flower... hm...hm... hm... so romantic! (Click to enlarge)

Here's the happy couple!

The beautiful wedding cake

Champagne toast, wishing all the best for this marriage...

Wedding Kiss

Who's on the wedding

Here's Clifford, so sleepy and tired... he always put his pointer fingers to his cheeks every time I say 'cheese...!!"

I also met my dear brother Alvin and sister Lita, Alvin was the best man on this wedding. They are not my siblings but they has been so dear to me. I stayed in their home several times 9-10 years ago and their father, Mr. Robby Chandra, was my spiritual leader. It was so great to meet them again after 10 years!

Have you opened your Christmas gift?

“Hey, is this a gift I gave to you several years ago?” I shouted to my friend when I found a familiar gift under her Christmas tree.

“Yup… still new and tidy huh?” answered my friend proudly.

“Are you kidding? Why have you never opened it?!” I poked her. I thought she was nuts not opening my present for her for years!

“Easy my friend, don’t be frown like that…” my friend tickled me trying to make me smile.

“You didn’t like my present, did you?” I felt a little bit offended, why did she refuse to open it I wonder.

“Of course I love it, dear… I love it so much; the wrapper is soooo beautiful, it has been my favorite gift all this time!”

“So why don’t you open it?”

“I love the wrapper very much and I don’t want to torn that wonderful wrapper!” she grinned… “I am sure I will love what’s inside, may be I will open the gift next week ok?”

I think she is so silly… the wrapper is not as valuable as the gift inside! However don’t you think we often act like that in Christmas time? We enjoy Christmas songs, Christmas decorations, Christmas atmosphere, Christmas fair, and we even get so busy in Christmas ministry at church. May be we all know the Christmas stories and have watched the Christmas drama over and over again, we know all about Christmas but we never really open gift of Christmas!

So what is the gift of Christmas? God has given us forgiveness, freedom from guilty feelings and eternal life in heaven guarantee and you never open it? Are you kidding? We’ll never get the greater gift than Jesus!

If our greatest need is information, God will send a teacher…
If our greatest need is technology, God will send a scientist…
If our greatest need is money, God will send a financial consultant…
If our greatest need is entertainment, God will send an entertainer …
But our greatest need is forgiveness, so God sent us The Redeemer.

My Best Friend and I

My favorite thing to do in the lovely afternoon is taking a walk with my Best Friend JC. It was 4 PM and the sun still showed its smile. This time JC and me were walking through a small village. Many kids were playing outside their house, flying their kites.

"Let's walk this way, JC" I pulled His hand. "There is a stable next to that house. It smells really bad. Let's take other way, I don't want to pass it, I can't stand with it's smell."

JC smiled. "I love to see animals. That smell is no problem for Me, actually that smell is so familiar for Me."

"Familiar?! You don't mean to say that You LOVE to smell it? Hahahaha..." JC tried to catch me and we run to a small hill near by and sat under the big tree. From above we could see the stable I avoided just now.

Taking a deep breath, JC stared at the stable. His right hands propped His head while His left hand played the grass. "I was born among the cattle and manger was my first bed, Trin"

"You must be kidding! No man in this world was born in a place like that, it is dirty and smelly. It was definitely not a good choice to bear a baby, JC. Why did Your Father let you to be born at the inappropriate place?"

"That was because My Father doesn't want to protect me from the hardness and bitterness of this world’s reality.”

“So You came to this world in that humble way and struggled with this uneasy and poor life to be among Your creation, us, human being, because You wanted to be similar with us, to feel what we feel, to experience our experiences, to understand our humanity…” I mumbled.

“I wonder how it felt, JC. You left Your Throne in Heaven, left all glory and power, You came to this real human world and the first air you inhaled as a powerless baby was the smell of animal’s dirt!”

JC laughed, ”Yes… you are right. That was bad… hahahaha… so smelly at first but we became used to it eventually… hahahaha”

“Oh JC…” I hugged Him, “I can imagine how humble You are! I mean, You are the Lord and You were willing to be born like the place that while I myself feel so reluctant just to pass that smelly stable! Why JC?”

He looked at my eyes and answered, “Simply because I love you…” I feel so touched, I hugged Him tightly. He started His life in our world in lower and disgraceful way than we were. He was born in the real family, worked as a low class carpenter for thirty years. He had neighbors and friends. He lived in this hard world just like us and He chose to die in humiliating way, accused for the crime He even never did! And He said, He did that because He loves me… He loves me…

That stable has opened my eyes to the new point of view how the stable has symbolized His unprotected life. When He came to our world in the first Christmas, He was unprotected from this hard reality so that He is able to understand and sympathize to all situations that we might have to face. When we pour all our troubles to Him, He can understand us.

He understand poverty and hunger, He has felt it…
Discrimination, suppression and repression, He has been a refugee in His first year life in this world…
Rejection, humiliation, has been the part of His daily life…
Neglected? He was neglected by his best friends when He really needed them by His side…
Death of the love ones? He experienced it several times…
Physically tormented? More than you and I have lived through!
He knows how life can be so unbearable,

When we feel so frustrated and want to give up,
When we are hurt so deep and loose our only hope,
When we feel that no body understand us,
Look at the stable…
Look at the stable and remember Someone understands us, He has experienced the same thing. Above all, we are precious in His eyes more than we could imagine. He has left all His glory and power, came to live among us, and suffered with us, just for us.

May we all are humble enough to come to His feet and put our trust to Him, allow Him to love and heal us back…

Christmas: from the angels' story

“Great news! I have the greatest news that never been heard before! Come near..come here!” Raphael calls all angels around him. They all are so excited; gather around Raphael in a second…

“Hear these news carefully fellow angels! I heard our Boss told Gabriel visit Mary, a virgin who live in Nazareth… The Boss will come to the earth!”

“WHUUAAT?!?!” the angels shout surprisingly together.

“The Boss will come to the earth?! Oh oh oh… I can’t believe it…I can’t believe it.. I think you misheard the news, Raphael. It has been 400 years the Boss has not spoken to human at all, why do He suddenly decide to visit the dirty ugly wicked world?!”

Hearing this unexpected news, the angels become so clamorous and noisy.

Raphael comes forward and shout, ”Attention…ehm..ehm..QUIET PLEASEEE!!”

The angels are silent in a sudden.

“I still have some work to do, I will be back to tell you more information about this. Please be ready for this SPECTACULAH PLAN, I’m sure we will have some great task to prepare and organize this AMAZING EVENT.”

Raphael flies and leaves the crowd of excited angels.

“Where is the most suitable place to be visited by our Almighty Boss I wonder….” An angel who is one of the cherubim members said.

“Hm… it must be an honorable, glamorous, luxurious and respectable place of course!”

“Oh no! Where is on earth there any place that worth visited by our Holy Almighty the Most High?! No where you know… absolutely no place is worthy enough can’t you get it? We have to prepare the place and make it worth enough! Oh … oh… we have to be hurry!!”

“Oh what an impossible task we have to do! That world has been too ruined and wicked to be mended… too many sorrows, sins, sufferings and all bad things… and now we have to prepare and clean a place to be visited by our Boss?! Impossible…. Impossiblaaahhh”

“Psst… psst… Raphael is coming again! He seems to be so serious! Quiet!”

Raphael comes with his bewildered face. “Ehm… attention please… Boss has decided to visit the world; He will become flesh and made His dwelling among human being.”

The angels look at Raphael with open mouths, the news is too unbelievable to be true.

“He has chosen a little town of Bethlehem as the place where He will be born as a baby; yes He will come as a baby from a Virgin Mary, wrapped in cloths and placed in a manger. The Boss has told Gabriel to tell the parents-to-be, to name Him Jesus, Immanuel –which means God with us”

“Oooooo……” the surprised chorus of the angels heard.

“But why….” whispered the beautiful angel softly…

“For God so loved the world… He wants to save the world through Himself…”

All of a sudden, Gabriel comes to the overwhelmed angels and says, “This is the great and joyful news to the world! Come along guys! We have to tell the shepherds in the fields now! Let’s bring this good news of the great joy to the people!”

And the great company of the heavenly host appeared to the humble shepherds, praising God and sing,

”Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests…”

Imaginary Talk...

I was lying on my bed, trembling and shaking. Too many thoughts raged in my mind that I couldn't explain nor express it in words. Disappointed, angry, hurt, sad, not sure what other words could describe my feeling... I just stared my bedroom's ceiling. It was 2.30 AM, the night still so dark and quiet. All I could hear were my hubby snored softly in his peaceful dream, and my son Cliff's breath in his rest.

"Why do you still think about it, My Child? You better rest to recharge your energy." suddenly my Big Daddy appeared by my side. His voice is so soft and calm, comforting my miserable heart. He smiled and stared at me, waiting for my answer patiently. I knew He payed all His attention to me, just for me.

"Many things had happened today, Big Daddy... I can't tell you all in order, I feel so... aaaahh.. I don't know what to say..." I whispered softly as I didn't want to wake my hubby and Cliff.

"Well it's okay, you can count on Me, I am here to hear anything you want to say and I think I will understand them all no matter how you say it. Just talk to Me one by one... Ok, why you feel so disappointed, My child?"

"Hhhh... You always know exactly how I feel, Big Daddy, do I really look that awful so You can read all my feeling through my face?" My Big Daddy smiled, and stroke my hair lovingly...

"I was so mad to the travel agent where I planned to buy my tickets to Singapore. They kept delaying to confirm my tickets and now I have to pay more because of their slow service. I have tried to contact the agent several times, everyday, but I was told that she was on call...she wasn't there...she was in the restroom... or if I could speak to her, she has no answer for me at all and promise to call me back as she has to contact the airlines. Actually she NEVER call me even once."

I looked at my Big Daddy to see if He was bored already with my mumbling... He still listen to me with full attention."So, you think that because of the agent's fault, you can't get the cheaper tickets. Is that true, My child?"

"Exactly. If only they really did their job last week, I don't have to spend that much." I frowned.

"Come here, child," He asked me to sit next to Him and He held me in His warm arms. There was peaceful feeling that I can't describe. "I know you are upset to that agent. I know you feel disappointed. However, your anger and disappointment can't force everything be back just like before. Look through the window, My child, I have prepared all beautiful stars scattered in the sky for you. I have told the moon to glow its charming light to shine and put a smile on your face. I also sent the wind breeze gently to refine your heart."

I feel so comforted and blessed as if I am the most rich woman in this earth. Why not, the sky is decorated so beautifully for me to enjoy!

"Now tell Me, what do you need to buy all the tickets? Haven't I provide you all the money you need, even though the tickets are more expensive? Can you afford it? I have provided all for you to enjoy, haven't I?"

Hm... yes, You are right... I answered Him softly in my heart. I took a deep breath. He was right, I might have an option to count my blessing and not fret. It's just sooo annoying for an ordinary people like me. There was nothing I can say but to thank Him. "Eeerrr... Big Daddy, thank you... I am sorry for worrying too much about all of these... sorry You have to remind me again that You know what I need and provide me according to Your mercy."

"That's My sweet child..." He smiled at me and tousled my hair affectionately. I always love to see His face smiling at me like that. "Are you okay about your maid?"

I sighed,"I guess so... tomorrow my new maid will have to return to her hometown and I will only have one maid, my faithful maid in these three years. It doesn't feel good to change maids several times, You know I hate it, Big Daddy... my maid also said that to me, it was hurt to be left by a friend several times."

My Big Daddy whispered sadly,"I know how it feel to be left. I understand your feeling. People did that to Me many times when I was in this world. Many people still forget Me and doesn't want Me in their life until now..."

I leaned my head on His shoulder. For some minutes we just sat together without saying anything, but our hearts felt that we understood each other's feeling.

"Eh.. Big Daddy, this afternoon I saw a woman sat in front of a house. She showed a strange gesture as if she was asking some food and water to every car and motorcycle that passed in front of her."

"What did you do when you see her?" asked Him. I knew ask me because He wanted to hear it from me, not because He didn't know it. He knows everything after all.

"I thought what You should do if You were me..." I grinned to Him. He laughed, "You did? And...?"

"Well, I passed her and went home... hahahaha"

"You what?!" He asked with his eyes opened widely."Naughty girl!" He tried to tickle me.

"Yeah I went home and took some food and water of course... hahaha... I gave them to her, Dad" He took me again in His arm and give me His thumb up.

"She told me that she was lost and have been wandering around since this morning. She was so hungry and thirsty. She came from Tasik, may be 3 hours away from Bandung. She was taken by somebody, promised that she would be sent to Malaysia to work but that stranger left her alone without money at all. She wanted to go home."

"Big Daddy, I planned to take her to the bus station..."

"Planned? You planned? So You didn't..." He cut my sentence.

I grinned awkwardly, "Many of her statements don't make sense to me. I thought it's impossible that someone could leave her hometown without her family's knowledge. She said she was promised to work in Malaysia, oh come on Dad, she needed a passport and preparation, she couldn't go to the bus station and followed a stranger. I need some time to think the wise thing I could do to help her. So I left her over there with the food."

I continued my story,"I would have to pass her place again to pick up Clay. If she was still there I would give her some money so she could go to the bus station. But she left already Dad... I didn't meet her again."

I looked at His face to see His expression but I couldn't guess His thought about this. He just closed His lips tightly as if He was waiting for me to say something.

"Dad, I am sure You heard my prayer for her this afternoon, right? You are my Provider, You take care all of my needs and I am so sure You take care of her as well...You remind me today that I have nothing to worry about... from little simple tiny things to big serious tremendous things... I don't have to worry about that tickets, money, maids, kids or even my future. You hold me in Your arms, You always do. With the same faith, I surrender that poor lady to Your protection as well..."

"Aaaah... you never be serious, My child!" He hugs me and we laughed together.

Thank you Big Daddy...

Moral lessons:
God is the One who know most about our needs now, yesterday and tomorrow. When He gives something to us, that means He really knows who we are, He knows our strength and needs. Because of that, He prepared every equipment we might need, complete with the way how we could overcome bad things that might happen. He made everything beautiful in His time. Unfortunately, sometimes we see it as something not beautiful and annoying, just because our glasses are too dark and not suitable to see through the situations we face.
