I almost spent some money to buy 'un peacefull' feeling!
sorry about my vocab.. 
I don't know what is the word to explain my feeling..
have you experience... you pay but you don't feel peaceful?
I subscribe tv cable yesterday.. and I joke with the technician.. I said I want to watch 'gold program' but pay 'silver program' instead.. ( you know what I mean?) silver program has only 26 channel while gold program has 46 channel.. We have to pay more to get all channels of course..
Suddenly the technician said to me,
"You can pay silver program forever and watch gold program..You pay me 500.000 rupiah ( around 62 us dollar), and you can have it. This is one and only life chance..."
I was tempted! I paid him 350.000 rupiah.. 44$ ! No one would knows..
At first, I felt happy.. felt lucky.. and my hubby didn't mind that as well, but deep in my heart I began to feel uneasy..
The next day.. in the morning.. I read the bible.. our daily bread.. at philippians 3...
watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh...
...what is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord...
and I felt bad... God really spoke to me through the words... and what I did was wrong... I told my hubby.. and he felt the same..
I prayed to God.. God, I didn't want to be like Eve, causing her hubby doing something wrong..
I felt awful... I have paid more.. to buy this unpeaceful feeling..!
Thank God, the technician came again at the afternoon! I still owe him 6$ and he came to take it..So I asked him to change the 'gold' one into the real silver that I have paid. I said that I can't watch the channel peacefully.
Luckily he didn't mind.. and he even returned my money... I didn't take all refund.. I gave him 6$, so I got my 38$ back. Thanks God for a chance for me to get my peace back!
The technician could never come back to get his 6$ and I couldn't change the gold into silver again... right? but I really thank God I could make the right decision..
I almost paid 44$ and lost my peace forever! May be I will become insensitive to God's words if I didn't listen Him and do what I read from the bible, and finally I will lose God's guidance in my life as well... how terrible...

Sometimes, a bargain isn't a bargain at all, when all it gets you is bad conscience. Better to have peace of mind than that troubled feeling, right? :-) You did well.

As Christians, our walk of daily discipleship is one of dependence on God.
What I did last week, or what I hope to do tomorrow, is not important. What's important is whether or not I walk with the Lord in faith and obedience today.

We can never watch the tv at ease know that its some sort of bribery sum that we paid for. Glad that the technician agrees to return you the money & everything is back to normal :)

i understand how u feel, sometimes when i did that, i wld oso feel guilty, and read bible to get peace. when i was carrying my 2nd child, i had placenta previa and was quite worried, i read the bible everyday until once i came across this message from God, "do not worry.....", then i felt peaceful again.. guess i have a lot more to read ler..

I am glad that you had such a big realisation of yourself. This is what we shd celebrate about it. To celebrate that you realise it yourself when reading Bible (aware of ur mistake) and choose to make another decision that make u feel happy and peaceful.
I am not a Christian so Im not sure what the message of Bible and Jesus are trying to deliver to his people. For sure this incident is trying to challenge you, my dear Trinity.
Buddha call this as "Greedy". Human has the most 3 difficulties to challenge. Greedy is one of them. I always think that God, Jesus, Buddha, Allah is trying to test us, the human by throwing all sort of incident to us everyday.
They want to see us how we react and whether we make the right decision for ourselves. They are testing us to be the BEST in us, Best Trinity.
I guess Trinity, you had passed the test of LIFE!!!!
Our society always teach us to be greedy, "If you have the chance to get cheaper price with full of benefits, why not? Dont be too stupid and being honest. Jangan rugi lah!"
You have experienced "society greedy" and realised it yourself by making the right decision.
I believe God, Buddha, Allah feel happy about your actions. This is what they want to see in the earth. Not everyone will be like you because they have blocked themselves towards the door of THE HEART, so they don't realise it.
When you choose to pay the right price and watch the right tv program, this means you are not hearing the society words and yet finding your true self by following your heart.
I feel proud of you, my friend!!
